A 77-acre farm situated in the picturesque Pang Valley, Bucklebury park is home to deer, pigs, alpaca, donkeys, Shetland ponies and more. Go on a deer walk and feed the animals, and then walk through the woodlands and discover dens, arches, sitting spots and more  - but don’t forget your wellies, as it can be very muddy at certain times of the year! Buckleberry Farm Park is sure to offer plenty of entertainment for children, and equal enjoyment for adults.

Walk the Kennet and Avon Canal from Newbury to Hungerford

Explore Berkshire’s industrial past and spot native wildlife along this scenic, nine-mile canalside walk. Starting in Newbury, which is easily accessible from Reading by train, this walk passes several bridges and locks. Taking in towpaths, meadows and woodlands, this walk is almost entirely flat, making it perfect for all abilities. You can even stop at Kintbury, which has plenty of options for lunch at local pubs. If you don’t fancy the return walk, you can take the train back to Newbury in only 10 minutes.

London Street Brasserie is an award winning restaurant next to the River Kennet that serves roast dinners with large Yorkshire puddings and all of the delicious trimmings. Or, if you’re feeling fancy but want to stay true to cosy pub spirits, Malmaison hotel offers a Sunday roast buffet in a traditional pub setting.
